IMPORTANT INFORMATION You will need: -- 2 x large quality ZipLock/SnapLock bags. (your placenta will be placed directly inside these bags for its protection) -- 1 x 2lt plastic storage container. (spare or rectangle) You may use a new one or a clean one from home. Please note the lid must have an airtight seal. The double bagged placenta will go in here, followed by the process waste for disposal. -- 1 x printed storage container label (supplied). Print, fill in, cut out and tape to the lid of your container for security. -- 2 x printed care documents. One in your hospital bag for the midwife assisting you birth. One taken to your antenatal visit for your hospital file/birth plan. #Please note If any of the above steps do not take place there is a RISK that your placenta could be a hazard to your health! If your midwife is too busy to fill in the label please have your birth partner fill it in. Your midwife will give you the information you need. This information is crucial to the safe process of your placenta as some situations require adjustment to the procedure. Placenta should be placed in the ziplock bags and into the labeled container ASAP. NOTHING is to be in the bags with the placenta. Ensure cooling takes place in a cold fridge (4-5 degrees celsius) or cooler bag with plenty of fresh ice ASAP. Never allow the placenta to leave your room unless your placenta container is labeled and your hospital has a dedicated placenta fridge.
TERMS & CONDITIONS 1. Under the Birch Tree provides placenta services including dry placenta encapsulation, raw placenta preparations, placenta essences, placenta tincture, placenta prints, cord keepsakes, placenta creams, placenta balms, placenta oil, photography and art works. 2. Samantha Birch is certified via IPEN (The independent Placenta Encapsulation Network) to provide placenta services to the public. Back up specialists have been trained/mentored by Samantha Birch (x IPEN lecturer) or a certified training company. IPEN and Samantha Birch do not insure placenta specialists. 3. The Traditional Method of encapsulation used by Under the Birch Tree is based on, and is NOT Traditional Chinese Medicine. 4. Placenta Encapsulation itself is experimental in nature and whilst the benefits of consuming the placenta post-birth are based on research studies, articles and testimonials from clients. Research is ongoing and Under the Birch Tree does not give any warranty or representation that theses benefits are guaranteed. 5. Clients that choose to utilise these services take full responsibility of their own health and for researching and using the remedies requested in the service. 6. The client agrees that Under the Birch Tree Specialists are not liable and do not take responsibility for any results or effects the client may experience before, during or after consuming the placenta (or its products) unless resulting directly from the negligence of the specialist. 7. Under the Birch Tree recommends the placenta and its products are strictly for the clients use only. 8. Under the Birch Tree specialists will not perform placenta encapsulation or any placenta service for clients who have ever tested positive for or suspect infectious/Blood Borne diseases including but not limited to HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B/C. 9. All methods of decontamination and sanitation of equipment used by Under the Birch Tree specialists are practiced to current government guidelines and regulations. 10. Under the Birch Tree specialists take pride in using natural techniques when preparing placenta, however certain high grade chemicals & disinfectants must be used to decontaminate and sanitise equipment before and after each client. 11. Your Under the Birch Tree specialist aims to prepare the placenta within 3 days after the birth. However we will not be held accountable should a circumstance arise where the placenta service cannot be completed until an agreed date and time. Please see document “Under the Birch Tree Placenta Care Guide” for guidelines on handling and storing your placenta. 12. Under the Birch Tree specialists do not take responsibility for damaged, contaminated or lost placentas before the placenta comes into our care. 13. The client agrees to store their placenta in double zip-lock bags, in a clean labeled container, inside a refrigerator or cooler bag filled with fresh ice/ice bricks with in 30 minutes of its birth. And agrees to keep her placenta sufficiently chilled until collection. 14. The client agrees to contact their specialist with in 3 hours of the birth to arrange safe collection of their placenta. 15. The client consents to the removal of the placenta from the hospital/home by the specialist to the extent necessary for the performance by the specialist of the placenta services chosen by the client. 16. Under the Birch Tree at times, utilises more than one specialist, if your specialist is unable to provide your service at the time of your birth another equally qualified specialist will be assigned to you. 17. Deposit is $100; non-refundable and to be made upon booking of Under the Birch Tree services. *Loss or special circumstances are refundable with confirmation.
